Gardening

This is my second year with a garden. I learned some hard lessons last year. I had some success, but much frustration. This year I decided to minimize the variety of plants. I also decided to try the hanging tomato plants. Everything seems to be going okay in spite of the constant rain here in Vermont. I planted chives (survived the winter), carrots, peppers, broccoli, tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, and zucchini.

Book Club

I have been on a reading/audiobook binge. I have probably been to the library more in the last few months. I have a bad habit of being in the middle of multiple books. I love to read, but I have a strong desire to be read to. This is probably a result of my mother reading to me and my siblings as children. I remember the Chronicles of Narnia the most. Or it could also be the endless & creative stories that my dad would tell us. This is a tradition that I want to carry on in my family.

I am listening to Harry Potter Book 5&6 before I see the sixth movie. Rich is having a hard time being patient for me to finish. He is ready to see the movie now. I am going as fast as I can.

Our ward started a book club. So far we have read Jane Eyre & Jurassic Park. This month is The Secret Life of Bees which I will be hosting at my house. We still just have a very small group, but I hope as others hear about the fun we are having it will grow. I am really enjoying myself for many reasons. I love the social time, but also the philosophical/intellectual discussions.

Rich's Graduation

Gaduation Day finally arrived. Rich was glowing with excitment and anticipation that morning. We are all so proud of Rich. He faced many challenges and obstacles, but was able to overcome them with the help of his supporting family. Rich is the first one in his family to graduate from college.
